GeoGebra™ was chosen as a tool due to its capability to visualize function graphs and their derivatives, thus facilitating students' comprehension of complex mathematical concepts. This training involved 40 students, beginning with basic GeoGebra™ introductions and concluding with practical applications in solving derivative problems. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in students' understanding and skills, as evidenced by an average increase of 25 points in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. Additionally, feedback from students indicated that 90% felt more confident and found GeoGebra™ easy to use, and were satisfied with the learning method implemented. The use of GeoGebra™ also successfully fostered students' interest in exploring more mathematical topics through visualization approaches. The success of this training highlights the importance of integrating technology into education to enhance learning quality and students' skills in solving mathematical problems. It is recommended that this training becomes a regular program with a broader scope of topics to support the continuous development of students' technological and academic abilities.
Desy Lusiyanti Selvy Musdalifah Iman Al Fajri Andri Copyright (c) 2024 JURNAL PENGABDIAN FARMASI DAN SAINS 2024-10-31 2024-10-31 3 1 1 7 10.22487/jpsf.2024.v3.i1.17365 PRODUK OLAHAN SELAI BUAH PALA PADA INDUSTRI RUMAH TANGGA DI DESA KASIMBAR BARAT https://bestjournal.untad.ac.id/index.php/JPFS/article/view/17393
West Kasimbar Village is a key nutmeg production center with significant potential for the development of value-added processed products. However, the village's home industries face various challenges, such as a lack of knowledge about effective processing technology, unmet product quality standards, and limited market access. This community service program is designed to provide comprehensive solutions to these issues, focusing on improving the quality and diversification of products, particularly by processing nutmeg into nutmeg jam. The goals of this program are to analyze the potential of nutmeg farmers and home industries, offer alternative high-value nutmeg products, and explore the prospects for developing nutmeg-based flagship commodities through diversification efforts that empower women in West Kasimbar Village. The training and counseling methods used in this diversification program involve lectures combined with technology transfer to ensure understanding of nutmeg processing procedures. A demonstration of nutmeg jam production will be conducted as one of the promising value-added products. Jamu consists of herbs or medicinal plants that are efficacious for preventing disease and maintaining body health. Generally, herbal medicine can be prepared by the community themselves. However, nowadays, herbal medicine has developed a lot and is packaged in the form of products that are ready to be consumed. Unfortunately, several herbal medicine products were found to contain prohibited medicinal chemicals (BKO). The community needs socialization of the dangers of BKO and training in making herbal infusions that are safe, easy and healthy for the body. Women from PKK RT 06 RW 05 Malaka Sari are the targets for this activity. The success achievements of the activities were evaluated with a pre-post-test by filling out a questionnaire. In the future, knowledge regarding the safe selection and method of consuming herbal medicine can be applied in the family to maintain body health and preserve the consumption of herbal medicine as Indonesia's cultural heritage.
Ni Putu Ermi Hikmawanti Sofia Fatmawati Tuti Wiyati Copyright (c) 2024 JURNAL PENGABDIAN FARMASI DAN SAINS 2024-10-31 2024-10-31 3 1 15 19 10.22487/jpsf.2024.v3.i1.17399 PELATIHAN DAN PENDAMPINGAN PENYUSUNAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS TPACK DI SD https://bestjournal.untad.ac.id/index.php/JPFS/article/view/17445
Training and mentoring in the development of TPACK-based learning devices were conducted at SD Inpres 3 Talise. The training participants are 16 elementary school teachers. The training is conducted by administering an initial test, followed by the presentation of training materials. The next step is the mentoring in the preparation of learning devices, where participants are given a final test and a questionnaire to gather their responses to the training and mentoring activities. Data from the pre-test and post-test were processed using the N-gain formula and N-gain interpretation categories. The results of the participant response questionnaire showed that 93.75% of teachers prepared well for the training and mentoring, 93.75% of the training materials were relevant to the teaching profession, and 100% of the participants expressed that the training and mentoring were very beneficial for teachers. The results of the data analysis showed that all participants experienced an improvement in test scores, with 1 person showing an increase of g > 0.70, 3 ≤ g ≤ 0.7 (high category) and 15 other participants with an increase of 0.3 ≤ g ≤ 0.7. In Duyu, there remains a lack of awareness regarding the importance of maintaining personal and environmental hygiene. Therefore, comprehensive education is needed to enhance public knowledge and awareness of the significance of personal and environmental health. The aim of this initiative is to increase public understanding of the importance of personal and environmental health, to teach proper hygiene practices, and to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain a clean environment. The activities were divided into several stages: health education and awareness sessions (covering the importance of personal hygiene, proper handwashing techniques, food and beverage hygiene, environmental cleanliness, waste management, the importance of good sanitation, exercise, healthy eating, and adequate rest), practical demonstrations (on proper handwashing steps, waste separation between organic and non-organic materials, and simple composting techniques), and participatory activities (such as collective efforts to clean the surrounding environment from waste and sources of disease, and the dissemination of health and hygiene information in strategic locations). The normality test revealed that the pre- and post-test data were not normally distributed, thus a non-parametric test was conducted. The Wilcoxon test resulted in an Asymp Sig. In the early stages, dyslipidemia often shows no symptoms or complaints, so many sufferers are unaware of their condition. However, examinations of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and triglyceride levels often show elevated results in people with dyslipidemia. Public awareness of the dangers of dyslipidemia remains low, particularly among the elderly. To increase understanding and awareness of dyslipidemia, a community service activity was conducted in Pana Village. This activity began with cholesterol level checks. Following this, a presentation was given on the dangers of dyslipidemia, especially among the elderly, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent risks of heart disease, stroke, and even death. This counseling session focused on lifestyle changes that can help control cholesterol levels, such as regulating diet, exercising regularly, and avoiding unhealthy habits like smoking. Out of 95 participants who underwent cholesterol testing, the results showed that 46 elderly individuals (43%) had cholesterol levels below 200 mg/dl, which is still considered within normal limits. However, 54 elderly individuals (57.3%) had cholesterol levels above 200 mg/dl, indicating a high prevalence of dyslipidemia in this age group. These findings emphasize the importance of health education for the elderly, so they become more aware of the risks of dyslipidemia and are motivated to adopt a healthier lifestyle to prevent serious complications.
Ihwan Ismail Khildah Khaerati Muhammad Fahrul Hardani Andi Athira Masyta Ririn Hardani Yuliet Copyright (c) 2024 JURNAL PENGABDIAN FARMASI DAN SAINS 2024-10-31 2024-10-31 3 1 46 50 10.22487/jpsf.2024.v3.i1.17469
